I really do not think you understand.

I sit here behind my keyboard typing my opinion/thoughts that some may not agree with. I do not expect everyone to agree but to understand where I come from. We constantly hear from our parents, lecturers and teachers of all the possible negative impacts of social media and the way individuals use it has a platform for cyber bullying.

Everyday I log onto Facebook (well really, I never log off) and i constantly see posts from people in a group called ‘Warilla/Lake South’. It was a Facebook group created to bring people together to reflect on how wonderful it is to live in such a wonderful place in the world. While some individuals take advantage of this opportunity to re-kindle friendships and rehash memories of the past a percentage of them do not.

I know what you are thinking – let me guess you are going to say some people are rude blah blah.

Well no, I am not here to attack people or to tell people that what they write is wrong in anyway as i do not believe it is my place. Although what i do ask is from people is not to personally attack other people for their own opinion.

While everyone believes their opinion is the best one/better than others no one can possibly make you change it, especially not with people abusing you and attacking you. It just makes a person more defensive and less likely to listen to you.

The poison of society

This is the strongest poison that does not sting for a minute nor can it be healed over a short period of time.. It is the sweet poison of a person.

We are all unique individuals that offer different qualities to society but sometimes we question who we are as an individual by those who poison our thoughts.

I am fourtunate to live in a country (Australia) known as a multicultural country.. I was brought up on values of equality and equity my whole childhood and along the way did face struggles. In recent events of a video going viral (link below) http://youtu.be/ZBdYvN49eRU

It has really gotten me thinking about why people find it necessary to act this way.. Please someone enlighten me!!!! While this video has gone viral it is amazing to read all the comments on social media against the actions of this woman.. It has been brought to the attention of so many individuals and it also shows a sense of community and change within society.. While I do not need people to fight my battles it is good knowing that majority of society will be there to support me.

Inspired and Motivated

Global Dance Convention is a workshop featuring LA’s most experienced and elite choreographers, going for two whole days. I got to experience it this weekend.

This was a weekend to be inspired and motivated. To share the passion and love for dance with others. To be emerged in a dance culture  full of talent and experience. I really wanted to share this experience with my fellow bloggers!

Saturday: What a day. Waking up early to be dancing at 8am and not finishing till 3.30pm on a weekend!. Taking multiple classes including hip hop  and Jazz.   During Jazz , Barry Youngblood a well known dance choreographer asked everyone to clap for me (quite shocked really). He said that i was putting in an amazing effort and connected with the choreography and music he gave me. He told everyone that i managed to stand out. Then with a laugh telling people to not then stare at me and being like ‘ohhh damnnn’ haha.I was lucky enough to be chosen by Barry Youngblood out of at least 200 dancers to perform his choreography piece for everyone else to see. I wasn’t sure what to think, merely shocked by the fact one of the most amazing choreographers chose me!. Me! yes ME! a 17 year old girl from a local town in NSW.

Sunday: Somehow i managed to convince myself to get out of bed, sore and tired.A long day was ahead, Jazz, contemporary, theatre, jazz funk and hip hop. Somehow i was managed to be picked again. Not sure how, this time it was for hip hop. This hip hop piece was genius, creative and fun (Barry Youngblood). I enjoyed it a lot and managed to perform it again for others to watch. My friend told me that a girl ran up the stairs saying ‘ Oh my god, did you see that asian girl dancing she was friggen awesome’.

Post Dancing (I will post videos soon)
